A Brief Resume of Richard Bennett, chief videographer at Bennett Video Specialists

Master Scuba Diver Trainer for the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI  # 4265 MSDT). Internationally certified instructor since 1966. 

*  Holds three International Instructor certifications, PADI #4264 active,  (SSI #702 inactive), (NASDS #867 inactive). Instructional degrees in wreck diving, deep diving, ice diving, underwater cinematography and still photography, equipment specialist, night diver, search & recovery, and underwater naturalist. Author of the first first Mini-submarine training course.

Coordinated Jacques Cousteau's promotional tour to Milwaukee for Involvement Day with NBC's WTMJ-TV,  “The Making of an Aquanaut” Channel 4. Oct. 20, 1979. 

*  Received the Certificate of Excellence award in 1980 from the Artists Guild of Chicago and the Art Directors Club of Chicago for assistance in underwater photography. 

*  In 1981 received the same Award for Underwater Technical Assistance. 

*  Certified as Instructor of Underwater Photography 1981 for writing the first PADI instruction manual on underwater filmmaking. 

*  Produced, directed, and hosted the first one hour eight part television series devoted to, "Scuba Adventure" on a local cable television station 1984. Project Manager and Director for a documentary film project “Flight to the North Pole” sponsored by Northwest Airlines, Silverliners International and Make a Wish Foundation 1992 

*  Underwater videographer for Milwaukee Police and Fire Department Recovery Teams. And producer of MPD training tapes. 

*  To date, Mr. Bennett has 7700 dives in 6 countries, four oceans, 200 lakes, 4 caves, and over 80 shipwrecks. More than one hundred and fifty dives under the ice. 

* 1994 Recipient of the prestigious Platinum Pro 5000 award from Scuba Schools International. 

*  Featured on the popular national television program, NBC's "Unsolved Mysteries" November 1994. Richard Bennett shot the underwater footage used and was the host of "The Treasure of Poverty Island.

* President of Bennett Video Specialists a Wisconsin video production company since1989.   

* Bennett Video Specialists will completed their 1000th commercial tape in the spring of 2002.

 * Instructor of videography for UWM's Arts and Liberal Studies department 1992 - 1997

* Instructor of videography for Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) 2003-
